Gamble Collection: Captain Thomas Coram

This scrapbook contains an article by Thomas Gamble, entitled "How Our Georgia Came to Have Its Name From Britain's Reigning Monarch." In this article, which appeared in the Savannah Morning News on July 31, 1939, Mr. Gamble proposes that Trustee Thomas Coram, who tried to name the lands south of Maine after George II, tried again and succeeded in naming the lands south of Carolina, Georgia.
